CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE
As we continue to navigate these uncharted waters with the coronavirus we continue to try to make the best decisions on how to love our neighbor and each other. Our government has recommended that church’s of 100 and more, and also churches where you are in close proximity to others, cancel their services. We do not make any decision for our church based on any one recommendation. But as we have prayed, and discussed with our church leadership, we have decided that best thing we can do to love our neighbor and each other is to cancel our services for this weekend, March 15th. This was a very difficult decision to make, and I have gone back and forth on what to do. There were several factors that led to this decision.
First, we always strive to love our neighbor. This has become a very unique situation on how we can love our neighbor. We do not want to contribute to the spread of the virus in any way that can harm others.
Second, I also understand the age of our congregation. Many members of our church are in the age range that this virus can be critical. I do not want to put any of our own members in danger.
We have also decided to cancel the Easter Egg Hunt for this year. We weighed out the pros and cons and it just not worth having this year in light of the circumstances. We will pick back up with the Easter Egg Hunt in 2021.
Also the SBC has called all Southern Baptists to pray for this virus on Sunday. Although we are not meeting together I ask for each of you to pray with all Southern Baptists around the world about the coronavirus. Here are the things they ask you to pray for:
We will continue to reassess the situation each week, and will keep you updated on what to do. Thank you for your understanding, and continue to be light to our community where there may be much unrest.
God Bless,
Pastor Danny

- Ask God, in His mercy, to stop this pandemic and save lives—not only in our communities but around the world, particularly in places that are unequipped medically to deal with the virus (Isaiah 59:1-2).
- Pray for President Donald Trump and other government leaders—international, federal, state, and local—to have the wisdom to direct us in the best courses of action for prevention and care (Romans 13:1–4).
- Scripture says—teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts. Pray that the Lord will give us wisdom in this moment of fear as the foundations of what we know are shaken, that others would realize how fragile life is and how real eternity is, and they would see their need to turn to God (Psalm 90:12).
- Ask God to protect our missionaries and their families around the globe, using this global crisis to advance His Good News to the whole world. (Mark 16:15)
We will continue to reassess the situation each week, and will keep you updated on what to do. Thank you for your understanding, and continue to be light to our community where there may be much unrest.
