Our Beliefs
Creedmoor Road Baptist Church is a Bible-believing fellowship. But what exactly do we believe about the Bible? What do we teach at CRBC? To answer these questions, we offer our Statement of Faith. This statement is intended to help Creedmoor Road Baptist Church remain a united, effective body of Christ.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Faith is the belief that our God is the true and living God, and that when we believe and diligently seek Him, He will richly bless our lives. Hebrews 11:1, 6, Romans 1:7, Mark 11:24
Our Purpose
- To love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. Matthew 22:37
- To love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Matthew 22:39
Our Beliefs
God is Alpha and Omega who is, was, and always will be the Almighty. There is but one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit filled with love and He knows all things. Revelation 1:8, Exodus 20:3, Mark 12:32, 1John 4:16, 1John 3:20
Jesus Christ is the Son of God conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and the Savior of his people. He was crucified on a cross for our sins, dead and buried but was made alive again. He now sits at the right hand of God and is the truth, the life and the only way to God. He will return to judge all nations and every person, throwing those whom refuse to believe and accept Him into an eternal Hell. To those that believe and accept him, He gives them eternal life with Him. Matthew 3:17, Matthew 1:18-23, Luke 24:1-7, 1Corinthians 15:3, John 14:6, Matthew 25:31-32, 46, Matthew 16:27, Revelation 20:1-15, Revelation 22:12, Revelation 21:1-4
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter sent in the name of the Son by the Father to those who know the Truth. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, and reminds us of what is right and of all Jesus’ teachings. John 14:16-17, John 16:8, John 14:26
Creation was the work of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God created the heaven, the earth, the plants and the creatures. God took dust of the ground and made man in His image and likeness. He created all people, men and women in His own image. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-28, John 1:1-3
The Bible is the complete true inspired word of God, not to be taken from or added to, but given for exposing and correcting wrong and for teaching what is right. 2Timothy 3:16, Matthew 5:18, Revelation 22:18-19, 2Peter 1:20-21
Salvation is the plan by which all who accept Jesus Christ are reunited with God. Because of Adam's disobedience all are born separated from God. Yet to all those who accept Jesus Christ, He gives to them the right to become the children of God and live with Him forever. We are saved by grace, the loving act of Christ dying on the Cross for our sins, through faith and not of good deeds; yet it is impossible to have faith without doing good deeds. Romans 3:23, Romans 5:19, Romans 10:12-13, John 1:12, John 3:16, Galatians 3:26, Romans 10:8-10, Ephesians 2:8-10, James 2:14-18, John 14:12
Believers are the light of the world. We must let our light shine before men that they may see our good deeds and glorify God. Believers are baptized into death, and like Christ, made alive again and walk in newness of life. Believers are becoming complete in the love of God, renewed in the spirit of our minds, leaving behind our sinful nature, and not grieving, but rather pleasing the Holy Spirit. In love and obedience to Christ, believers seek to teach all nations and all people, baptizing them and teaching them to always obey God and to trust that Jesus is with us always. Matthew 5:14-16, Romans 6:4, Matthew 5:48, 2Timothy 3:17, Ephesians 4:22-23, Matthew 28:19-20
Prayer is the method by which we communicate with God. Through prayer, our desires and praises are made known to God and those desires are granted when we pray in God's will and believe. Prayers, including praise, thanksgiving, intercession, forgiveness, and supplication are to be made in faith, free of anger and doubt. Mark 11:24, 1Timothy 2:1, 1Timothy 2:8
The Church is the body of Christ made up of many members working together and caring for each other. Members of the body are all equal in importance to God and have been gifted and called to service in accordance with His Holy Word and divine plan. We confess and share our commitment to be a New Testament Church. Through practice we observe the fellowship of believers, the ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper. 1Cor 12:12, 25, 26, Romans 15:6, Galatians 3:28, 1Timothy 3:1-13, 1Cor 12:1-31, Acts 6:3, 1Cor 11:24, 1John 1:7
Marriage and Family is holy, sacred, and instituted by God. The purpose of marriage is to provide companionship, nurture children and is a life long committed union of a man and a woman. Husbands and wives are to submit themselves to each other only, as to the Lord and are to love each other as Christ loved the church. Parents are to nurture and teach their children the ways of the Lord. Parents are not to provoke their children to anger. Children are to obey their parents in the Lord. As parents and children form a family, likewise the church is a family and we are to love and care for each other, as Christ loves the church. Genesis 1:28, Genesis 2:18,22, Matthew 5:32, Ephesians 5:22-25, Ephesians 6:1-4, Mark 3:33-35
Satan, the devil, is the tempter and deceiver of the nations and all people seeking to destroy as many lives as he can. Satan and his evil angels were cast out of heaven and will be thrown into the lake of fire in the Day of Judgment with all his children, the ungodly. Christians should therefore resist Satan and all his temptations. Matthew 4:3, Revelation 12:9, Revelation 20:3, Jude 1:6, 1Peter 5:8, James 4:7
